The number one holiday resort of the west coast of Wales, Aberystwyth nestles between three hills and is flanked by two beaches. It is also home to the University of Wales and the National Library. The town’s harbour was once the busiest in Wales but now attracts mainly pleasure boaters keen to explore this most beautiful of coastlines and take advantage of the mild climate around Cardigan Bay and explore the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. With plentiful births and ample marine services, Aberystwyth is amongst the most spectacular locations for yachting in the British Isles.

As you would expect of a premier university town, Aberystwyth has a vibrant happening centre with seven thousand students ensuring it retains its atmosphere throughout the year. It is also the centre of local rural life and has become renowned as the place to go for a good night out. With numerous friendly restaurants serving food from around the world, a lively café bar scene and no less than 50 pubs to choose from, it’s hardly surprising.

During the day visitors can enjoy wandering the streets and surrounding hills to marvel at the wonderful historical architecture – the 4&5 story Victorian/Edwardian harbour buildings, the old college building, the pier and the Iron Age castle that offers spectacular views of Cardigan Bay. You can also enjoy magnificent views in more leisurely style by riding the longest cliff railway in Britain to the top of Constitution Hill.
