We have a fully equipped workshop with qualified, skilful
carpenters who are able to fabricate or repair anything. Using only the finest
ply-wood, teak, maple etc, we repair/ make bulk-heads, cabin soles, wooden
hulls, cabinet work, plus anything we set our minds
to! At Adrian Stone Yacht Services you can be assured that your boat is in
the best hands that will provide a professionally finished job.
Using today’s high
performance products,
either spraying, brushing or roll painting on,
will not only enhance the cosmetic finish to your boat, but also provides
an important protective
barrier against the elements.
ANTI-FOULING OSMOSIS TREATMENT
Osmosis is a process of degeneration within a glass fibre
laminate in the hull of the boat. This eventually can lead to the laminate
absorbing water like a sponge. To treat this we firstly have the hull
professionally blasted/peeled before we commence a comprehensive washing and
drying procedure. This is followed by and application of a solventless epoxy
before a final layer of solvent-based epoxy. In extreme cases extra layers
of matt and epoxy resins are required.
Antifouling necessitates good preparation. This is done by removing loose,
flaking areas before being thoroughly washed and dried. In certain cases when
the existing coating is poor, we wet sand the hull completely before priming
the surface and finally applying the antifoul.
FIBRE-GLASS AND GEL COAT REPAIRS
At Adrian Stone
we have the knowledge and expertise to fix gel-coat chips, major fibre glass
repair work or build in added strength to your vessel. All aspects of GRP
moulding and keel work also undertaken.
We have recently
been appointed Aurora’s Western European agent, with
a view to supplying the main European chandleries with this range of unique
products manufactured in Canada.
At Adrian Stone we have yet to find any European products that can match the
quality of Aurora.
